9 Months - August brought us the start of school for both of our tiny hooligans, as well as the beginning of busy season for me. The collision of both of those things made for a stressful August, but I would say that by mid-September we were all in a better rhythm. The first day of school was exciting for some (Jack was losing his mind at home during the summer) and scary for others (me! Although less so for the second one). Caroline did well at drop-off on the first day, but when she went back the next week you could tell that she had caught onto the entire process. It took her a month to get adjusted but she enjoys going (although I was told she does NOT like the other babies touching her, which I totally understand). Caroline has been babbling "Dada" and more importantly (to me) "Mama", she still doesn't necessarily associate them solely with us, but we are getting closer. Now that she is crawling Caroline has begun to find every teeny tiny piece of dirt in our carpet, which means a lot of chasing her down to pry things out of her hands. She will pull herself up on anything she can get her claws onto including: tables, chairs, fireplaces, stairs, my pants, Oliver's back, etc etc. So far Caroline loves all table food and will bang her hands on her highchair tray until she gets more food in her mouth. I have tried repeatedly to teach her the "more" sign, but unlike her big brother she has decided she's too good for that. We've also noticed that if there is something causing a lot of noise she will try and add a tarzan yell in for good measure, example being Oliver barks wildly at the front door and Caroline yells from her high chair to match his volume.
Jack has been asking for pictures with his sister, especially when they are both dressed up in Aggie gear.
Hanging around outside to enjoy the nice weather before the temperatures went back to fiery furnace status.
Playing Candyland!
Jack dressed himself this day....
Doing some swimming, Caroline loved the water!
Building the trains Jack received for his birthday.
First day of school!
Pajama day!
End of the first week of school. I had said on instagram that Jack needed the four-year old equivalent of a glass of wine after the first week back.
Pulling up and standing at the bottom of the stairs.
At his favorite restaurant, Chuys, with his favorite dip, creamy Jalapeno
10 Months - Now that Caroline's crawling is well under way her new favorite game is when I chase after her and tell her "I'm gonna get you!!!", she will crawl as quickly as she can and giggle while she does it. She has been growling at everyone and will copy Oliver or Jack when they growl at her first. She also likes to do little motorboat noises with her lips as she plays and crawls around. This is less adorable when she is eating and baby food ends up all over my face. She loves to be tickled and will lay across your lap waiting for you to tickle her. So far she has enjoyed almost all of the foods we have given her (except avocado) and has started trying to grab any and everything out of our hands to eat. She loves taking a bath and I leave a little bit of water running while she is in the tub with me to let her play with. Caroline has been doing a ton of pointing and telling us where she wants to go, mostly to the pantry to visit her shelf of snacks. I can't remember if I said this in another post, but Caroline is the happiest baby when she wakes up. She just lays in her crib until I go in to get her and then we walk around and say good morning to everyone in the family. It has been really fun to get to see how excited she gets to see people she recognizes.
Dressed up for the Aggie game.
Baby yoga, peas, and cheese
Asleep with his Blackberry phone, never know when work will call.
Spiderman donut!
Good morning happy baby!
Dressed up as a firefighter at school
Picture from school, apparently she is the baldest baby there.
When Caroline eats she uses her right hand to shove the food as far into her mouth as possible (her entire hand can fit in there!) and uses her left hand to hold extra scraps in a tight fist. Whenever we get to the end of a meal I always tap on her fist to make sure she realizes there's a little extra snack hiding in there for her to eat.
