Jack Turns 4!

We couldn't go past July without doing a recap of Jack's birthday! Normally we do parties at our house with family, but this year Jack wanted to invite some friends over and our house was still a disaster zone from moving. I found a local ice cream parlor that lets all the kids make their own ice cream sundaes and allowed Jack to make his own 3 scoop (gigantic) (enormous) (impossible to finish) sundae. Jack requested a PJ Masks theme so we found masks for everyone and David made a box rigged up with magnets and Styrofoam so that the kids could knock down the PJ Masks villains. Everyone was sufficiently hyped up on sugar by the end, so I think we can call that a successful day!

Jack is such a fun four year old, he has a great imagination and is always trying to think of ways to make other people laugh. I think his favorite things right now include Paw Patrol, PJ Masks, building things out of magnet tiles, and playing store/house/pretend. He has been brushing up on knock-knock jokes with our Google Home, although his delivery needs some fine-tuning. Jack is very independent, for better and for worse, and we find that if we are working on a project he will be in the thick of it using a "shoot first, ask questions later" sort of philosophy. He is crazy about his Aggies (I swear we are not brainwashing him) and will ask to watch the Aggie band on YouTube along with any and all Dude Perfect videos. He's been enjoying playing baseball in the backyard, he always is on the Aggie team while his dad or I are on the "losing team". We've both been surprised by how much Jack loves having a younger sister, I think when she is a little older he will love having someone to boss around and play with. Life is definitely more interesting with him in it, and we are thankful to have him around to liven things up. Happy birthday, Jack! We love you!

The PJ Masks all ready for the party.

This sundae was much larger in person, it had a river of hot fudge on the bottom, three gigantic scoops of ice cream, whipped cream, and cherries on top. Even after Jack had his fill of ice cream there was still a substantial amount left over.

Family lunch before the party, look at Caroline waiting for her chance to eat. We had Chick-fil-a nuggets, because our son is a good southern boy who loves his nugs.

Awesome birthday present Jack received from his grandma. I think the entire back yard was hosed down by the end of the day.

Just a couple of PJ Masks waiting for their turn to defend the city.

Waffles on his actual birthday!
